My Art Friends Do Such COOL Things !!!
Recently, I posted some of my Gelli Plate printed backgrounds for my blog followers to download for free to use in their own art. I always encourage my friends and followers to share with me the awesome creations they come up with using my downloads. I just LOVE to see what others can do with stuff I have made. It feels like we have collaborated on art even though we may be thousands of miles apart and may never have met in person.
Anyway, this past week two of my favourite people contacted me to share what they'd done with those backgrounds. If you missed the posts of those backgrounds they are here:

First up, my friend Gayle Bodine took prints of the backgrounds and cut them up to use in her own art journaling. What she discovered with the little squares she'd cut from the larger prints is incredible! Take a look at her blog here to see the fantastic examples she has shared:

Secondly, my artsy friend Kay Strum took those same backgrounds and printed them off to use in her handmade greeting cards and ATCs. You are in for a real treat when you take a look at the next few images. Wouldn't you just LOVE to receive a one-of-a-kind card like these? Kay has a real gift for cardmaking!
Well, if these don't inspire you, I don't know what will! Be sure to download those backgrounds yourself if you think you could put them to use in your own art. And, as always, let me know what you create so I can feature your work here too!
All the best always, my friends.

FREE Background Images For Your Artsy Projects
If you follow this blog at all you'll know I am obsessed with my Gelli Arts printing plate. I have TONS of papers that I have been printing and, in some cases, scanning for future use and re-use. That's the recycler in me.
I thought I would share with you some scans of a few of those pages for you to use if you wish. These are simple JPG images so all you have to do is right click on the images you want and save them to your own computer. You can then re-size them and print them as you like. I like to use MS Publisher (because it's such a simple program for this sort of thing). I just plop the image into MS Publisher and then size it up to fit an 8.5 X 11 piece of paper and print it in color. Then I can use it for kinds of artsy projects!
You are welcome to use these images for anything you create. I only ask that if you sell whatever you create with these images, that you cite your source when you list the item for sale.
If you missed my blog posts about what to do with these scanned backgrounds once you print them out, check this post: Third Generation Gelli Prints Tutorial

Free Funky Images For Your Artful Pleasure!
Seems it is time, once again, to share some more free images that you can use in your artful endeavors.
This time, the images shown are scans from some of my original art from days gone by. If you know me at all, you know I love to re-use my art images in new art projects, creating whole new one-of-a-kind pieces. I am a firm believer that you don't have to reinvent the wheel every time you sit down to create something. Make use of your original art over and over again by scanning it at high resolution and saving it to a directory for future use. Believe me, if you start doing this you'll never be at a loss for an image when you need it.
Anyway, here are a few for you to have fun with. Just right click on the image to save it to your own computer. You are welcome to use these images in anything you create. I only ask that if you make something that you sell or publish, that you cite credit for the use of the image.
As always, if you'd like to share images of what you make with these, I would love to see them!
Happy creating!

Another CD Collection Giveaway !!
Hello, everyone! Wow! The first day of March already. Is time ever flying by. I think it's time for another CD collection giveaway, don't you?
As I've done the past couple of months on the first day of the month, I am having a draw for a free copy of one of my vintage images collections on CD. If you've seen this draw before, you'll know that these are images that I collected over the years and then scanned and organized them into collections for other artists to use too.
On this CD there are over 3,000 vintage images, all in simple JPEG format, so they are easy to use, crop, alter as you'd like in your artful adventures. You are free to use the images for any personal use including products you may sell but the collection is copyrighted (which means it can't be reproduced in whole or in part either digitally or in print to be resold).
To have a chance to win it, please share this blog post on Facebook, and/or re-post to your own blog and leave me a message that you have done this. I also invite you to sign up here to receive my blog updates if you'd like to keep in the loop as to what I'm up to.
I will make the draw on March 3 and post the winner's name here. One entry per person, please. Those who have won before are welcome to enter again.
As always, I appreciate your interest in my art and my blog. Good luck everyone!

FREE DOWNLOAD - GRUNGY PLAYING CARDS
Seems like it's time for another giveaway, don't you think?
This time, I am happy to share with you my grungy playing cards. I took a regular deck of playing cards and used only the face cards, aces and jokers. I tea stained them individually to get the cool grungy look that you see in the photos below.
I use these images in my mixed media, collage and altered art work. They make a cool addition to any art journal project, scrapbook page or handmade greeting card.
To get these images, all you need to do is message me here with your email address and I will send you the PDF file. If you use a Hotmail account be aware that the file is very likely to end up in your junk email folder so you'll have to check it. If you have any trouble reaching me through this blog, feel free to email me at: joannabanana@shaw.ca
The images will print on two 8.5 X 11 pieces of paper. I recommend sending them to either a color laser printer or a color copier, rather than an inkjet printer. I have not had good luck with ink jet printers because the ink can smear when subjected to a sealant in collage and mixed media work. If you don't have a color printer to work with, you can email the PDF file to your Staples store (or other office supply store) and they can print copies for you in their Copy Center. Because the file is in PDF format, you will not be able to re-size the images.
You are welcome to use the images for your personal use. The collection is copyrighted by me and is not to be re-distributed to others, nor reproduced for resale or redistribution in any form. If you end up using these images in work that you sell, I would certainly appreciate a credit noted.
Have fun with them and do let me know what you make with them. I absolutely LOVE to see what you create with my stuff!
Cheers all!
